So finally, Sunny Deol’s latest Bollywood satirical comedy drama film ‘Mohalla Assi’ has completed its first week at the box office with steady speed. On the other hand, same day released thriller drama ‘Pihu’ has ended its first week on a decent note. Pihu performed well whole week while Sunny starrer struggled at the box office.
‘Mohalla Assi’ First Week/7 Days Total Box Office Collection:
Chandraprakash Dwivedi’s directorial comedy drama movie Mohalla Assi is running slow in the theaters. The film was released last Friday i.e., 16 November. The film, which is loosely based on Kashi Ka Assi that is a popular novel by Dr. Kashi Nath Singh. The movie received mixed response from the film critics at the time of its release. Sunny Deol’s starrer managed to gross only Rs 2.5 crore (approx) within its very first weekend.
Mohalla Assi received slow opening at the box office and failed to attract viewers to the theaters. The film opened up with Rs 25 lakh only and showed a slight growth on the second day as the movie raked Rs 50 lakh on its second day. The movie disappointed the makers of the film on third and fourth day as well as the collection of the film only reached to total Rs 2 crore.
It seems quite difficult for the movie to recover its making cost which is said be Rs 20 crore. The film is now considering as flop and there is no chances for the movie to come over now. Sunny is all set to come up with his new movie named ‘Bhaiyyaji Superhit’ which is scheduled to release on November 23. The comedy drama stars Sunny Deol and Sakshi Tanwar in the lead role. The movie also casts Ravi Kishan, Saurabh Shukla, Mukesh Tiwari, Mithilesh Chaturvedi, Rajendra Gupta, and Seema Azmi in the supporting roles. Sunny plays a role of an orthodox religious priest, who is a Sanskrit teacher while Sakshi plays a role of his wife in the movie. The movies has been in controversy due to its dialogues.
