New Delhi: The government announces that they are going to remove Rule 8 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, according to that a person applying for the driving license must be passed the class 8th. As it is decided as the necessary minimum qualification for any person, want to get a driving license. But recently the government is going to take a decision regarding remove this essential qualification to enhance the employment opportunities. The statement had issued by the Ministry of Raod Transport yesterday.
It assumes that removing the primary qualification for getting the driving license will increase the employment in the transport sector as most of the people mostly youngsters who are the skilled driver but not getting permit of driving because of their education is less than the necessary qualification. It is assumed that after this decision, approximately 22 Lakhs jobs in the transport sector will have emerged in the future that lessen the rate of unemployment in the states. However, the qualification criteria will replace by a stringent skill driving test if apply for driving permit.
The training institutes and centers providing the facility of driving will be controlled by the state officials, the main motive is to provide the best quality training covering all phases and features of driving on a particular motor vehicle.
The ministry already passed the decision of removing the essential qualification according to Motor Vehicle(Amendment) in the previous Lok Sabha. The resolution also discussed by the standing committee and Select Committee of Parliament. It assumes that the decision will increase the rate of employment and help unemployed people unable to do anything in the rural areas.
