A monument of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was devoted to the nation on the auspicious day of his birth anniversary on Tuesday at Rashtriya Smriti Sthal. Prime Minister Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, BJP chief Amit Shah and former PM Manmohan Singh were among some great personalities India who attended the prayer meeting at a memorial near Rajghat.
An official announcement cleared that a piece of vacant land was made available for the memorial at Rashtriya Smriti Sthal arranged by the union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry. The Rashtriya Smriti Sthal was constructed by the (CPWD) Centre Public Works Department on a budget set of Rs 10.51 crore. The fund organized by Atal Smriti Nyas Society.

It was said by Senior BJP leader and society president Vijay Kumar Malhotra that the monument is spread over 1.5 acres of land at Rashtriya Smriti Sthal, Where Vajpayee was cremated on August 17, he said the monument reflects the dynamic personality of our former prime minister.
It is bound by nine bas-relief walls which have inscriptions of the poetry of Vajpayee, Vijay Kumar Malhotra also said that not a single tree was cut in developing Sadaiv Atal which is being made at Rashtriya Smriti Sthal, which also consist of samadhis of former president and prime ministers.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away on August 16 at AIIMS due to a prolonged illness and was cremated with full state honours on August 17. PM Modi released a Rs 100 commemorative coin on Monday in the memory of our former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 94th birthday eve.
