An asteroid will pass our planet today and that asteroid is the 2019 OU1, it will be traveling at the speed of 29,000 mph. There is no need to worry as the asteroid is not going to collide the Earth. As a precaution, NASA is keeping an eye over the asteroid to make sure it doesn’t change direction. The asteroids are small rocky objects that orbit the sun. They are way smaller than planets. Asteroids can be deadly, as their collision can bring tsunami, heavy winds, and shockwaves which can cause significant destruction on the planet.

This is not the first time that an asteroid is passing by Earth as asteroids including, 2019 OK, 2019 OD, 2015 HM10, 2019 OE, 2019 NN3, 2019 MB4, 2019 MT2, 2006 QV89, 2016 NO56M, RF12, and many others but none of it touched down the Earth surface. Asteroids can be one reason behind the end of the Earth. Talking about the approaching asteroid, 2019 OUI, the approaching big rock is 100 meters in diameter and is going to pass the Earth at the distance of 0.00687 astronomical units. The distance between Earth and Sun is considered as One AU and if we look at the fact that the coming asteroid is just 0.00687 AU away, it is way close to the Earth.

The 2019 OUI asteroid is approaching Earth on August 28 and it is going to be just 640,000 miles from the center of the Earth. The asteroid will reach around 11:36 am IST. CENOS is calling these asteroids, Apollo asteroid and it includes the other asteroids that fly around the Sun and Earth. According to NASA, the chances of asteroids hitting the Earth are zero, but on the other hand, NASA says that the asteroid is way dangerous and it has enough potential to cause a lot of damage to the planet. There are more than 7 lakh asteroids out in the space that are known by the scientists. Most of the asteroids are found between the orbits of Jupiter and Mars and that area is known as the Main Belt.
